Mission Statement To provide an additional layer of safety to competitive (team) athletes throughout the world through quality, innovative shield protection. Origin/Inspiration One of the founders, Joe Bosack, purchased a new Riddell Speedflex helmet for his son, who plays the Offensive Center position on his High School football team. The Center position is considered playing “in the trenches” on a football team—head-to-head with the Defensive Line. As a safety precaution Joe purchased an face/eye visor/shield to put on his son’s helmet. However, after installing the visor/shield, his son’s mouth and nose remained exposed. After hours of research, Joe was unable to find a shield to cover his son’s mouth & nose. So, he decided to invent his own mouth & nose shield for his son. After the engineering of numerous samples were produced & tested, TEKTOR shields was born.
